OSE on Tito's lines In Yugoslavia, the goals of the OSS were to help the resistance forces to sabotage railroad lines carrying supplies into Germany, to tie down tens of thousands of German occupation troops and prevent them from being used on the front lines against the Allied armies. In addition, the OSS in Yugoslavia rescued aviators who had been shot down on the bombing runs from Italy to the Ploesti oilfields in Rumania, and it also sought to deceive Hitler into thinking that the American invasion might occur in the Balkans instead of in Normandy. OSE  Operation "Windproof "  Banská Bystrica  17 September - 27 October 1944 Final historical facts as of 2 February 2020 Left to Right : M/Sgt Jerry Mican ,USNR Lt.Green ,SOE Maj.Sehmer Tri Duby 7th Oct.1944 Operation Windproof was a communication operations run by the SOE in Slovakia and Hungary sandwiched between the Nazis and advancing Soviet lines. The British OSE and OSS operational details were classified till 2008 and yet as we speak substantial facts are still missing removed intentionally or still classified by military archives , The objectives were to pass messages between London and underground parties with the idea of penetrating Hungary from the north due to difficulties in entering Hungary via Yugoslavia. " Berditchev a small player in a huge game " " ברדיצ'ב שחקן קטן במשחק ענק" CO, Lt.Col.Henry Threlfall, Force 139, SOE Bari  Lt.Abba Berdichev OSE Operative Force 133 & 139 My study into this subject revealled several new facts about Abba Berdichev's mission into Yugoslavia and Banska . By all determinations I exclude that his task on March 1944 was to  penetrate in due course Romania then conduct SOE activities in there with the local Jewish community and then make connection with the Allied airmen held POW at Timisul near  Sinaia unlike various Israeli archives indicate . In fact he joined the SOE Team of Captain  Maurice Sutcliffe along with Shalom Fintchi in Croatia rather far from Romanian borders.
